'Hidden Faces' – perhaps not so hidden!

Jail Birds, my TV documentary, appeared on ABC1 in November and December 2009, showing the work I was doing "behind bars" implementing my new choir program at the Tarrengower women's prison in country Victoria. I'd also just started the choir program at the the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, which is the maximum security women's prison in Melbourne with 260 women in "attendance".

It was an amazing journey to work with the women and see them grow so much in confidence and self-esteem as the choir rehearsed and performed under very difficult restrictions (which is what you would expect in a prison!).

Jail Birds is available on DVD and the music, along with 5 original songs, including the title track Voices From Inside with Kasey Chambers, is also available on CD at all good ABC stores, with a percentage of the profits going to the Royal Women's Hospital and towards the ongoing running of the Choir.
